Why Anchor Text Should Be Varied?

Since I’ve recently published a post on few social media tools, which are helpful for link building and backlink purpose, these are additional thoughts on link building (building links to own website).

If you provide a good content people will link to you. The above tools can be helpful to stay in touch with larger audience. What matters here is that you can’t control how they will link at you, but you can direct them. For example, if I link often with “social media marketing tools” as the anchor text, then many people who see the post interesting will use the same “social media marketing tools” or some form of modification, but certainly similar, to link to my post. Eventually this can come off to be good, and here is why.

The anchor text (the “text” that is used in the link) should include keywords that are related to the topic covered on the web page. And here is why anchor text should be varied. Links that all have the same anchor text can look like manipulation and forge to the Google and other search engines. Therefore, the text links should contain a variety of synonyms and related words, especially if we know that search engines nowadays use LSI to follow web content.

I have only started thinking About Anchor Text and I think I will have to Go and Rewrite many of my older Posts and Make better Anchor Text in them
