Who is linking to you?
November 18, 2008
Have you ever noticed two publishers or bloggers start arguing and the one of them never heard about the other before? The first one noticed when the second mentioned him and reciprocates back. If you’re not sure how to monitor the web about the links to you ( incoming links ) here’s a clue.
I noticed some services like wholinkstome (I didn’t use this) when I have typed “Who is linking to you?” at Google, but here is how I monitor links to my website.
I have set a Google alert (see Google alert explanation) with my website link ( link:http://www.web2whizzing.com ). This way every time someone links to my website, I get the alert in my email inbox. Also I use WordPress for this. At the WordPress dashboard you have “incoming links” with all the latest links to your website. You can even use RSS to import it to RSS reader.

This way you can always monitor what people are saying about your content.
Additionally, you may want to download monitoring software recently released by Jack Humphrey. It’s quite similar to Google alerts with couple more options, like website’s states (Google Page Rank and Alexa traffic).
