Yes, it’s MUCH about getting traffic to the web site. I am not saying it’s all about it, because you need quality content to offer as well. You see, website owner can deliver wonderful idea, amazing products, but without traffic, his business is death. So, let me say again….ITS MUCH ABOUT TRAFFIC!!! You can have fancy landing page, even forum for your website, or whatever, but without traffic, you are without a business. How to increase and get constant traffic to the blog?

If you’re just starting, you should know that blogging is a great way to increase traffic. When you are writing on a regular basis your blog will drive traffic automatically (ping and posts submission to RSS Directories). And besides that automation here are few good ways to promote your blog:

First, blog SEO

Vitally important is to optimize properly your blog for search engines. If you are new to this, I have made a weblog post how to avoid mistakes and avoid losing SEO page rank. Also I recommend putting related images to every post. You see, images are totally different type of promotion and traffic, because Google and other engines are using particular robots only for “alternative text” behind images. Anyway, these sites may not be an effective traffic generator for you. Test it. You won’t know unless you try it. If it doesn’t benefit you after a trial, you can always uninstall widgets.

Besides blogging exchanges, also common traffic exchanges, like Trafficswarm and Linkreferral, can increase traffic. They can be used for common website, but as well blog promotion.

Finally, Web 2.0 sites

You want to get rich quick, to make tons of money quickly? Great! You are on the right place, because in that case I want to tell you: „Go try with Lotto“! You may heard that there are people on the internet making millions of bucks. You heard well, but please realize they haven’t done that overnight. Fine, if content is king then how the heck can we increase the quantity of content and actually produce constant documents for our web sites? I mean we’ve all been there, writing article after article in purpose for submitting and posting to our sites, blogs or article directories. And the more we write the less enthusiastic we start to become about creating a successful online business. We have to face it, writing needs time. On the other hand, as web site owners and publishers we need constant fresh content. So, how can we bypass the one thing that all internet marketers hate doing?

How important is constant web site content?

If you already have own blog, then you probably know that with every new article you bring out, its actually opportunity for people all over the world to find your weblog content. A single page of content you write and publish provides many different ways for someone to find it. First, how many people will have access to the same content as you? If the service you are looking at requires you to share their content with a thousand other members, then what’s the point? In that case, you may go out and grab content from article directories.

Secondly, work out how much you’ll be paying per article. If a membership cost $100 and in that membership you’re going to have access to two hundred articles that would mean the cost per article is going to be $0.50. Therefore a membership that offered 400 articles would make the cost per article half of that.

How to find self writing “Voice” especially if your blog is business oriented? It’s Easy!
It’s much like writing a personal journal on topic of your interest. Here are some tips to initiate you:

• Write in a manner that’s entirely natural to you (use words and phrases that you would use naturally in speech);
• Let your views and passions emerge through your writing;
• Use imagery and metaphors to make your writing more vivid and articles interesting;
• Write for your visitors. Imagine who you’re writing for and ‘speak’ directly to them like they are sitting in the same room with you.

Making the difference in business blogging

Blogging is important because if someone is going to do business with you, they have to like you, or at least to respect you. People are sick of cold corporations, and they want a real human being they can identify with. So don’t be afraid to be “normal“. Don’t be afraid to be YOU. If you are reserved, there is a risk that your message will not come to people who will like and respect you. Setting aside could dilute your online business. So once more time “don’t be afraid to write articles in manner that is common to you and don’t be afraid to be yourself”.

It’s important to be professional, but don’t be so professional that you kill your personality. Let me make additional note here. Most people who visit my blog don’t care much about me, what is logical, because they are coming here to pick information that are relevant to them, but it’s important the people understand that behind this site and documents is real human, and not some automation or robot work.

You can put your picture on the weblog, what your background is…where you’re from…what you like to do…some of your beliefs and values… etc, but note that there is a difference between giving your personal story and using personality in your writing voice.

The formula is: When you are watching a movie you are not getting character whole bio before the film has begun. You are meeting the character through scenes and situations. The same is with blogging. As a blog author imagine yourself as a movie character. You can put your personality through blogging, but if your weblog is business oriented why should you review Indiana Jones movie? (Except if your blog is about films). Who cares what you think about latest blockbuster or music concert? Your readers want content on the topic of your site. However there is a difference if you mention somewhere in the post and go further or to have one such a post in 15 to 20. Don’t forget to respect your readers time, they are your partners. By the way, do you think Harrison Ford is too old for such adventures?

Above all, concentrate on your blog topic and remember that writing is a communication, and you have to establish a connection between yourself and your readers. Even if your blog is business type, the best way to establish a connection is when your personality comes through in your writing.
