Google Chrome Impressions

September 12, 2008

Using and testing Google Chrome for a week now, I can confirm it’s really fast. Google Chrome is opening sites much faster especially Websites that I have already visited. 1-2 seconds and kaboom, the whole page is opened. Though blogs (like mine as well) need a little bit more time, probably because of all  plugins and widgets. Speed is advantage, but I have to stress a problem.

Google Chrome Problem

Google Chrome - speedy browser

Google Chrome - speedy browser

So, speed is perfect, it’s faster even than Safari, much faster. And the problem is not any browser’s bug. Actually it’s mine dilemma - what to do when you have so fast browser (Google Chrome) on the one hand and so useful add-ons with other browser (Mozilla Firefox). Its like having a formula 1 as vehicle. Yes, you can fly driving it, but you cannot have anyone along you. No one can sits beside you. You have to drive alone.

The same is with Google Chrome browser. You are flying compered to Firefox, but without all useful Mozilla add-ons it’s like stoping to pour a gas on every corner. Though I only have nice words for Google Chrome, I just cannot browse without Firefox’s tools I’ve habituated. Just for example - Picnik and Zemanta Firefox add-ons…and many others.

So, I will try to combine these two browsers. You can download Google Chrome, its free.
